Flashback Friday: One year ago today

One year ago today, Catie and Randy were here visiting our new little person. And now they are about to have their own little person.

One year ago today, we indulged Randy and went to the Sou-plantation, after having Alla weighed for her one-month birthday (11 pounds 3 ounces, thank you very much).

And then we came home and propped her up and I snapped a gazillion pictures and this is her, my one month beauty.

Today she is 13 months old. Somehow.

Today we celebrated Ron's birthday with pizza and a few friends stopped by, so Alla got to play with friends. I have to say this is the hardest part about leaving. Alla recognizes Mazie and Jamie, even tries to say their names, and she really loves them. I'm certain that once Kelsea can fend for herself on the floor, Alla will have similar feelings. I hate to take Alla away from this in a few short weeks. Sigh.

Lastly, we have Ron's birthday one year ago, followed by this birthday. What a difference a year makes. One year he's holding his newborn daughter, who'd already grown out of her hospital swaddling blanket, and the next she's standing on her own, helping him unwrap gifts. Geez.

Man, where does the time go. Alla is getting so, so, is mature the right word? This year has been a whirlwind. I wonder if they are all (years) like this!!! So sad about Alla's friends, you have to visit and KIT with them so she'll forever have a west coast connection. So sad she and Jada didn't get the chance to bond.

I love these pictures! Miss being in beautiful Southern California with all you guys. The girls are all getting so big! I wish we could all (plus Clark's, Cobb's, and Derenzo's) live in Redondo Beach for 6 months out of the year, then come to Colorado for the other 6 months. Life truly is made by the friends you keep!
