Winter walk.

We are enjoying two days of warmth, which, for these parts, in the middle of January, means mid-twenties. Yesterday we ventured out at noon for a 45-minute walk, and that was just wonderful. We all needed the sunshine and fresh air. Alla loaded her dolly Lauren into her baby stroller and we walked to the stream. Alla thought she'd be brave and walk on the stream. (Trust me there's a stream under there somewhere.)
This is the other side of the stream in the summer:)Back to winter here - Fisher is one heavy baby after 45 minutes in the Bjorn.
I've always loved the path that leads down to the stream, in every season it is lovely in all its winding-ness.

I'm seeing that the temp has now climbed to twenty-five so I have big plans to get these kiddos outside after naps today. And maybe get in a run this evening myself! Maybe it will even hit 30! Then I might have to break out the shorts. OK, I'm kidding. Barely.

That is a lovely walk. Very green in the summer. The girls had such fun throwing sticks and watching them come through to the other side. And you still use the bjorn? I couldn't with Jacob after 4 months. The sling was way better because he was more on my hip instead of on my chest. He nursed a lot more than Fisher (read:sore). Enjoy your "warmth". Miss you!

As soon as I saw that first photo I though, "jeez-that's quite a workout carry that boy around like that!"

That path looks wonderful and I'm glad you got to get out and enjoy it! I'm hoping for a few more days of warmth and sunshine for you. . . our 10 day spell is about over with snow in tomorrow's forcast. I love getting mild winter days, though, which totally make you appreciate the seasons so much more!

I remember Alla throwing rocks in the stream and Ashby watching after one of our walks one morning - good memories

Do you remember that morning we saw the wolf or just a really BIG dog? I was so scared. :)

Such pretty photos. I would love to take that walk just when it's warmer than 25 degrees & I too can't believe that you still use the Bjorn.

I'm piping in just like Dre...I'm sure you don't want to know that my daughter's birthday party last Saturday was held outside, barefoot in the grass with sundresses and shorts in 80 degree weather!! However, there's something beautifully quiet about snow-filled winding paths...
