OK, we are feeling a little bad about letting Alla loose to chase out the big bunny that's been stalking our garden, because now we realize she wasn't stalking the garden at all, but keeping an eye on her little babes!
Daddy accidentally found them when mowing this afternoon. They started popping out of the ground and running for dear life. A few minutes later he's standing at the window holding up a baby bunny in each hand and Alla cannot get out there fast enough to hold them herself.
It was next to impossible to get her to come inside but miracle of miracles, both kids came in, laid down, closed their sleepy eyes, and mama did too. Ron said that when he went in there to get her after nap, she was jumping around doing 'fernagics,' which of course is Alla-speak for gymnastics. And somehow Fisher was sleeping through all of her fernagics.

we were lucky enough to get 2 batches of babies this year. the first batch of 7 drowned in their hole from a rainstorm. the 2nd batch of 7 in different hole all the way across the yard came about 2 weeks later and then they left the nest way too early and we haven't seen them since....but the first batch we got to hold alot before they died.....poor things don't stand a chance. guess it's a good thing that they, well, breed like "rabbits" LOL>>>>>so there are so MANY around here.
glad she got to have fun with theM!!! cute pics!
